If there is one exercise I encourage everyone to do, every day if possible, in my opinion this is it.
When I found this exercise and its’ power I felt like I had been handed the keys to health and happiness. Yes, I am that much a fan.
Why? because when our brain is not crossed over – by that I mean the left and right sides of the brain are communicating in harmony, cross over, feeding each other – we are not living our best life.
You are more likely to:
Feel unhappy, even depressed.
Have thoughts that go nowhere except around you head, creating free floating anxiety.
Thoughts that lead us into the What if’s, the Should I – questions that actually have no answer except to exhaust us.
Create a distorted version of reality – we can get a little paranoid; make up whole scenarios from the smallest incident that when challenged are far removed from truth.
Not recover from illness or injury as quickly as you might.
But, when you are crossed over it is as the clouds have parted and you enter a whole new shinny reality. A reality where you smile more, are definitely more resilient to all life throws at you. You see situations for what they are, not what you fear they might be.
So yes, I love this exercise.
