I had no life-affecting health challenges  – or so I thought. Or so I thought.

I had things that I was told, well you will have just have to live with that. Such as:  Menstrual Pain that led to me being wiped out and taking 13 Panadol for 2 days a month from the ages of 10-30. Yep, that is pretty life affecting when I think about it.

What was I offered via the GP route – being put on the pill at 14 (so I could cope with exams and school) made no difference. The offer a hysterectomy in my 30’s. An offer I did not take up. Different times I know.

General free flowing anxiety. Again, I didn’t know I had it – I assumed having Panic Attacks was something that just happened in life. Feeling overwhelmed – isn’t everyone? It was the Panic Attacks that started me looking at the workings of the mind in response to stimuli. I gave some damn good talks to school kids on how to manage their panic levels.

I now realise these symptoms are not, NOT to be taken for granted; we do not have to just suffer them – they are the symptoms of a system out of balance.

THRIVING, NOT JUST SURVIVING
